USMLE Step 3 Prep Course

Residency application has become extremely competitive. Many international medical graduates have realized that an excellent passing score on USMLE Step 3 is now required for residency application. No longer can physicians rely on just USMLE Step 1 and/or Step 2 scores for consideration for residency. An excellent score on USMLE Step 3 can go a long way in helping secure a residency interview.   To this end, we have set up this specialized course to help meet this need. Ours is specialized, tailor-made program that emphasizes the critically essential concepts along with the patient management. Depending on your background the Step 3 Course can be custom-made to meet your needs. This is important because some people have been out of school and medical practice for a very long time, and with the recent importance placed on some basic concepts, some test-takers may need additional help. Course Structure The USMLE Step 3 course is the smallest of the three courses we offer; the class size may be as small as 5 people only! It emphasizes all the key subjects tested on the exam, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Psychiatry & Ethics. It begins with Basic Science Review that covers the critically essential elements of Genetics, Pharmacology, Immunology, Microbiology, and Neurology. This is followed by Clinical Sciences Review that covers Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Psychiatry & Ethics, along with some very high-yield subspecialty topics, including Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Urology.  These are thought by experts in these fields.   Special emphasis is placed on patient safety, population health management, medical literature interpretation, and ethics – areas that have gained steadily increased significance on the current Step 3 exam.   Course Notes One aspect of this course that is received widespread acclaim over the years is the course notes. Course Notes are given out at the beginning of the course. The notes are frequently updated to reflect the current trends in medicine and the USMLE. They are readily adjusted as new clinical information become available. For example, important new treatment guidelines and principles and emerging treatment trends are updated as soon as they occur. This is very critical because textbook publishing cycles take 4-5 years; books that were already on the market wouldn't be updated until a few years after new medical discoveries. Treatment guidelines for various diseases evolve over time, and exam candidates cannot depend on old textbooks alone, as the information contained therein are not updated frequently. The USMLE Insider Course Notes are rapidly updated by experts in various specialties. You can always count on getting the most current information!   Location The course may be taken with our expert faculty at our Las Vegas location or in Florida or Atlanta. Our USMLE Step 3 Prep in Las Vegas is very popular among many people. Chicago’s Lakeshore Drive is another serene environment where the USMLE Step 3 class is often offered.   Schedule The course is typically held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Saturday; it comprises of lectures and case-based studies which covers all the high-yield, classic cases involving in-patient and out-patient management. Participants are given a challenging exam every 3 days that is strikingly similar to what one would see on his or her actual USMLE Step 3 exam.   Duration The course is held over a 3-week period. Overview Several people prefer online USMLE prep course because of an inability to travel due to family and work commitments. We therefore offer a LIVE online course for such individuals. It is offered in real-time just like ina classroom setting, so any participant can stop the lecture and ask any questionsimilar to the way one would in a live classroom setting. This means that it is not a pre-recorded video.   Through web-based discussion software technologies, students/subscribers can participate in asynchronous discussions; the conferencing software allows the lectures to take place in real-time. Participants will be able to view it from the comfort of their own homes vialaptops or PC or tablet and mobile devices. The notes are given out in the online lecture hall and participants can print out the material ahead of lectures. The lectures are also recorded and stored for students who may want to review them later. This also allows our former live lecture participants to benefit from the lectures again after they leave the live prep program.So, if you want to re-learn the material againand let us help you master it over time, this is an excellent option.   Timing/Schedule Because the online course is a live lecture and it requires the subscriber to activelylisten and follow the lecture, a prearranged scheduled starting time is set up that should be convenient for the participants, who are typically in different time zones. Some lectures may be repeated for some people in different time zones. A typical lecture lasts 3-4 hours in the evenings.   Course Duration We offer the online class within a 5-week period. Sometimes it maybe extended by a few weeks based on the participants' schedule. Most of theseindividuals have full-time jobs and parenting responsibilities and it istherefore difficult for them to have a class every day of the week.   Benefits You are getting the benefit of the live lecture without having to travel toone of our lecture locations to pay and live in a hotel and accumulate travel and other expenses. People are able to schedule a lecture time that is convenient for them. Some mothers have opted for 2 a.m.- 6 a.m.lecture time block, as it is the time that their children are asleep, andthey have no parenting or work responsibilities. An audio recording of each lecture is available upon completion of each lecture session for referencing later.   Recent Success Recent USMLE Step 3 scoreshave ranged between 238 and 250. Currently, we have been offering our Step 3 Prep Course to family residents at some area hospitals and clinics, including Morehouse School of Medicine, with remarkable success. Many of our test takers have scored around 95%.   Virtual Classroom Set Up Once you have signed up for the online course, we will email you a link to the software for the Virtual Classroom. You’ll then download and install the software. Then you just show up for class at the pre-arranged time each day.
